You have probably learned by now, or have a good idea of what part you play here at Safety Provisions, but what does everyone else too? How does what everyone do play into what you do?
Each department is critical to the creation of our training products. Lets take a look at what each department does, so that you can see your place in the big picture.
Management
When specifically talking about training products, management decides what courses need to be made, and in what format they should be created in. They research the current market and decide which courses we should create new, and which courses we should re-do. From them, we get a flow of training courses to create.
Learning Development
The learning development departments researches the training topics management gives them. Then, they write and edit, making a training course. Each quarter of the year new training courses are assigned to a writer and editor or a group of writers and editors to work on. These trainings are made in a PowerPoint presentation and published through a learning platform called iSpring. Once the courses are finished, learning development will publish the courses onto our Learning Management System (LMS). Our current LMS is called Talent. Inside these trainings are written content, audio, pictures, and graphics.
Media
As you know, the media department has a variety of different positions, including video specialists, animation specialists, and graphic designers. The graphic designers create all graphics that will go inside the training courses that the learning development department creates. The video and animation specialists create video trainings that are based off of the written training courses. These are then put on our website and sold as video trainings.
Web
The web team creates all of our websites. They upload new products and update re-done courses to the website often and ensure that our customers have all the options we have created available to them on the website. They also spend time researching SEO techniques, facilitating blog posts, and making other mini websites to help build our business.
Customer Support
Once the training courses are done and being used by customers, we are bound to get lots of questions. Customer support takes phone calls from 8 to 4 to help our users navigate, buy, and resell our training products. They also set up onsite trainings and deal with the billing and invoices for our customers.
Quality Assurance
After training products are made, Quality Assurance periodically performs audits, checking the quality of our products. Quality Assurance also reaches across all departments to help create internal processes and auditing processes that help the work in each department to run more smoothly. Each member of Quality Assurance helps a different department to accomplish this.
