Welcome to Safety Provisions, Inc., and welcome to the Content Development Team! We’re so happy to have you on board. Our company creates instructional materials based on federal standards. We encourage employers to foster safe and healthful workplaces by explaining correct safety principles and identifying potential hazards for each topic we create content for.
Our Purpose
As the writing team, our purpose is to deliver quality, comprehensive training to our end users. What sets us apart from our competition is our focus on the end user. We ask ourselves the following question often: "What does my end user need to know about this topic in order to work safely?" Maintain this focus as you complete your kit and online course.
What Do We Offer?
Online Training
The safety industry is leaning more and more towards online safety training, which is cheaper and oftentimes more convenient. Our online safety courses are built in PowerPoint using an authoring software plugin called iSpring. These presentations range anywhere from 100 slides to 400 slides. You should use your best judgment in determining how much information you will need for the topic you are writing about.
Kits
The kit training option is for customers who want all the materials they would need to conduct in-house safety training for a group of employees. DIY kits include the PowerPoint presentation as well as many additional resources, such as your initial research, toolbox trainings, accident profiles, and more. While you won’t be officially compiling the kit until your PowerPoint presentation is completed, it is best to begin collecting the appropriate materials as you go along.
You may either save the information into your own writing folder or go to the Kit drive, make a folder with the name of your training topic, and begin saving information there. The information will be reorganized when you begin compiling your kit, so either method of saving your work would be equally beneficial.
Train the Trainer
The Train the Trainer course is a short module that adds to the beginning of any online course and prepares trainers to conduct their own in-house safety training. It is ready-made and applicable to all of our online courses.
Onsite
For onsite training, our contracted safety specialist travels to the location of the company and conducts the training. This is beneficial for companies that want training specific to the equipment on their worksite. They also get to complete the practical evaluation portion on the same day that they complete the written portion, which saves the company additional time and money.
Our Customers
Here are some of the people who will be interacting with the courses or other content in various ways. Everyone who interacts with our products has different needs and goals. We try to achieve as many of these as possible.
End User
Our clients or end users are usually blue-collar, no-nonsense kinds of people. They are there because their job requires them to take a safety training course. They need (and want) clear, accurate information. Their goal is to get back to work quickly.
Office Manager
More and more, we see office managers purchasing courses. They don’t necessarily understand what needs to be in the training, but they do care about “bang for the buck.”
Kits and training presentations need to be robust so the office manager feels they’ve gotten value for their dollar. Remember, “Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.” Our products need to be VALUABLE.
Safety Supervisor
Safety supervisors are sometimes just regular employees who have been on the job long enough that they’ve been “promoted” to the position. Other times, they are individuals who have gone to college and obtained a degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
Either way, they care about the content and accuracy of the training. Yes, they may be purchasing the training or Kit and, therefore, want value, but they mostly need an accurate, clear product that satisfies OSHA regulations and keeps their crew safe.
Casual Viewer
These are not necessarily customers. They may have stumbled on our site or profile as a result of a Google search. They want answers to specific questions or concerns. They want information that is easily accessible and easily digested.
While we hope they remember us when they want or need certification training, they are not necessarily purchasing or even taking a course from us.
