Content Developers must have an eagerness to learn new things. In addition to using the best resources for research, Safety Provisions expects you to continually learn about the industry and the tools we use to train others.
Safety Fests and Webinars
There are a number of safety festivals held throughout the region and online over the course of each year. Content Developers are encouraged to sign up for courses that may prove helpful in their future training development.
If a course is offered at a safety fest that directly impacts a course you are currently developing, you are required to sign up for the course (at no cost to you) whenever possible. This ensures you are staying up-to-date on the latest industry knowledge. It may also offer insight into how to approach topics within the training itself.
Save any certificates that you earn into the Writing folder on the k-Drive under Certs. Here is the file path
K:\5__Writing\8-Certs
Tools of the Trade
The same concept applies to the programs and apps we use to develop courses and graphics. Webinars and tutorials should be a regular part of the Content Developers’ routine. These could be for any of the following topics:
- Writing
- iSpring
- PPT
- Video editing
Your supervisor or manager may assign you to complete courses, seminars, or tutorials they feel will help you keep your knowledge and skills relevant. Again, save any certificates that you earn so that management has documentation of your continued learning.
