The purpose of final exam questions is to ensure the end-user understands and remembers the most important information from the training. The best quiz questions present scenarios that our end-user will have to think through before choosing a response. Remember that questions specifically related to safety/safe practices will almost always be better than purely definition-based questions.
As you write your written exam, be thinking about how the information could translate to more engaging interactive questions.
Note: We do not pose final exam questions related to information in the introduction or solely listed in graphics.
Guidelines
We expect quality, well thought out questions for each course.
The length requirements for final exams are:
< 100 slides, at least 10 questions
100 – 200 slides, 10 – 20 questions
201 – 300 slides, 20 – 25 questions
301 – 400 slides, 25 – 30 questions
> 400 slides, at least 30 questions
For the written exam, you are allowed to format your questions as multiple choice, multiple response, or True/False. These will not be interactive.
True/False
If you want to use a True-False question, try to add an explanation to the answers that explain why they are correct. Also, note that you do not need to put “True/False:” at the beginning of a true-false question. That is implied by the answers being true or false.
You should always correctly punctuate your questions or true-false statements. However, you should not put periods at the end of the answers unless they are complete sentences.

Feedback
You will be required to include feedback on every question, for both correct and incorrect answers. If your feedback will be longer than three sentences, use an INFO SLIDE instead.
Feedback should identify the correct answer for the question. Rather than simply repeat the question in answer format, try to add additional helpful information in your feedback.
Branching
You may choose to include a branched question following a computational-type question, such as the load chart example. Do not use branching simply for the purpose of continuing a story. It should only be used to provide additional practice for must-know information. We will limit the branch to one question.
