As you create trainings, you will need to fill those trainings with relevant pictures. This article will outline the process of getting the pictures that you need for your specific training topic.
Pictures
Before you request pictures from the media department you should check to see if we already have the pictures you looking for. Follow the file path below to get to our categorized photos. Once you get to "Training Topics," you can choose the category of your training and then go into the folder titled "1_photos."

If you cannot find proper pictures, you may then ask the media department to take pictures for your specific training topic. You can request these by following the process outlined below.
Important: You should request these pictures as soon as possible. Try to request them as you are writing your outline.
Requesting Pictures
After determining you do not have enough relevant photos to suit the trainings needs, follow these steps to make a formal request.
- Create a word document that has the description of each picture you need in order. (ex: If you need a picture of the left fork of a forklift, do not just put "Forklift")
- Create a new conversation in the Safety Provisions channel "From Writers for Media"
- Submit the word document to the channel and a Media Department member will reach out to you about it.
The media department will save the photos to their relevant folders in the M drive and let you know when they are ready for use.
Hierarchy of Picture Sources
If you cannot find the correct pictures or there is no time for you to request pictures, there are a few alternative ways to get pictures for your training. Try to get pictures in the following order. We will only use pictures that have a Creative Commons license or need attribution if we absolutely need to.
- Find our pictures in the M Drive.
- Find stock images on Envato or Pixabay.
- Find photos with a Creative Commons license (no credit needed).
- Find images that need attribution.
If you have any questions concerning proper pictures, talk to your manager or assistant manager. They will be able to help you out.
