When you create a video using Adobe Premiere Pro, you will be editing together a variety of audio and visual elements. In order to keep these elements well-organized, we have created a filing system for you to use in Adobe Premiere. You should always adhere to this system when you save your project. That way, if someone else ever needs to work on the same video project, they can easily open your project folder and know how to navigate it, given the fact that it is organized the same way as every other project.
Once you have made a project folder inside Premiere Pro, you will need to create three additional folders or bins inside your project folder to help organize. The three folders inside your project folder should be named audio, video, and comps.
Ideally, this is also the order you would follow in the editing process. - Does this refer to when they edit video clips into a single larger video, or when they edit someone else's completed video? Will that be clear enough to the media department guys?
Audio Folder
Inside the audio folder, you should create two additional folders:
- Voiceovers (V.O.)
- Music and Sound Effects
Video Folder
This folder will contain the video footage you need to create the video. After a video shoot, you can save the footage in a project folder in the drives , and then import it into the "Video" folder in Premiere Pro.
Original footage can be found in the Training Topic folder of the training you are working on, or in the folder titled "Footage Dump."
Comps Folder
The comps folder can contain any extra elements including, but not limited to:
- Nests
- Adjustment Layers
- Titles
- Animations
- Should these be organized into further folders, or just grouped together?
